  • Veggie House!, Veggie House Manager (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
The house was built about 1930 and housed the Delta Zeta sorority for many years, so it is very old and has been kept in relatively good condition considering. The Veggie House rooming house was established in 1998. I have been a tenant at the Veggie House for over a year now and find it a mostly welcoming and comfortable place to live. Rooms are private and the common space is spacious. The residents usually have some affiliation with Oregon State University. If residents are not vegetarian or vegan, they must be willing to respect those who are by complying to the strict vegetarian theme. For more information, the management can be reached via email at veggiehouse [at] yahoo [dot] com, to see room availability, our webpage is veggiehouse.redacorn.org.

  • USPS Post Office, Stamps Come in Books (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
It sounds like all you people need to do is buy a book of stamps. You can even get them in rolls of 100! I bet the line is long because of people like you buying stamps one at a time.

Our Post Office does a fine job. I send packages to my sister in Portland first class and they arrive there the next day. There are long lines but there is a machine that does just about everything (even priority mail) that noone ever uses. Too many people complain about the little things!

The classic parental ambivelance spot - you hate it (loud, crazy, pizza and wings suck) - the kids love it (loud, crazy, the playroom is off the hook). Parents keep going back because you can have a 30 kid party and don't have to clean up... and because the kids are contained behind plexiglass. But please - if you have a kid under 4 - supervise your "little angel" in the playroom.

Since January 2008, things have changed at this post office. It now takes more than a week for a simple letter to get to Salem, Oregon from Corvallis. Who knows how long it takes things to get elsewhere? Unbelievable! I've started to do my bills online and send packages through UPS. Why stand in the long lines at the Corvallis Post Office? The Post Office continually wants more money and then give worse service. They forget we now have options! :)
